Experience
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. I have over fifteen years of experience working in mental health, including residential treatment, outpatient therapy, spiritual settings, and community mental health. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, visiting local bookstores, and riding my bike along the lakefront. Additionally, I love spending time with my pets, my two Boston terriers, Oliver (Ollie) and Max.
My Ideal Client
I specialize in helping clients manage trauma, racial identity, grief, anxiety, depression, and family dynamics. I work with adolescents, adults, and families. My ideal client possesses a healthy curiosity about patterns and behaviors that no longer serve them and is eager to engage in the work needed to change those patterns. The therapeutic process occurs both within and outside the session, as clients practice skills, techniques, and healthier behaviors in their daily lives. A commitment to weekly or biweekly treatment has proven effective in fostering change in one’s life and wellness.
I use the following counseling theories (but not limited to):
- Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
- Faith-Based
- Motivational Interviewing
- Grief Therapy
- Strengths-Based
- Trauma-Informed
