Experience
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. I have over fifteen years of experience working in mental health, including residential treatment, outpatient therapy, spiritual settings, and community mental health. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, visiting local bookstores, and riding my bike along the lakefront. In addition, I love spending time with my pets, my two Boston terriers, Oliver (Ollie) and Max.
My Ideal Client
I specialize in helping clients with managing trauma, racial identity, grief, anxiety, depression, and family dynamics. I work with adolescents, adults, and families. My ideal client has a healthy curiosity about patterns and behaviors that no longer serve them and wants to do the work to change those patterns. The work of therapy is within and outside the session, with practicing skills, techniques, and healthier behaviors in daily life. A commitment to weekly or biweekly treatment has proven effective in seeing change in your life and wellness.
I use the following counseling theories (but not limited to):
- Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
- Faith-Based
- Motivational Interviewing
- Grief Therapy
- Strengths-Based
- Trauma-Informed
